Assessing Threats Targeting Financial Institutions and Their Employees
Your workplace is not immune to acts of violence by disgruntled employees, former employees, or customers. This session will cover warning signs or pre-incident indicators to help you identify the potential perpetrators of such acts. Preventive policies and procedures and lessons learned from past incidents will be covered.  The instructor's personal threat assessment experiences will reinforce the discussion.  A class concluding audio tape will get your attention by emphasizing the importance of paying attention to warning signs.

Fraud Cliff Notes
In this presentation, a former financial crimes detective turned bank-fraud consultant will look at current trends across the country.  Using real-world tools and examples, we'll take an inside look at card skimming, common fraud trends, and the social engineering tricks the bad guys are using to manipulate their victims.  During this presentation, we skim a card using real-world tools to show how easily the bad guys can do it.

Cybersecurity Tips and Tricks
This presentation covers current cybersecurity trends, the different types of social engineering attacks, how to spot them, and best practices for protecting yourself and your organization.  We'll use videos and the actual tools the bad guys are using to explain how to protect yourself.

Facing the Media After a Crisis
Should your bank be the victim of any type of crisis, the media will certainly arrive at your doorstep demanding information from you. This session discusses the basic skills needed to communicate with the public through the media after your facility has gone through a major crisis.  Participants learn how to give print/electronic media interviews, write news releases, provide information at the scene, and how they fit into the joint information system. The session will cover ways to make the most out of your relationship with the media to communicate in an emergency effectively.

Program Facilitators
Ben Hayden
 - Prior to joining the Tenax team in 2021, Ben held positions as the Director of Security & Privacy Operations for a global software company, managed the consulting division of a large financial services provider, and was the information security officer/bank secrecy officer for a large financial institution.  Before entering the private sector, he served as a police officer where he worked as a detective, specializing in financial crimes and digital forensics. Ben holds master’s degrees in both computer engineering and information assurance and is a certified anti-money laundering specialist and member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. He has additional certifications and extensive training in electronic investigations, digital forensics, and active shooter response.  Before serving in law enforcement, Ben served in the Marine Corps where he was in the infantry.  In his free time, he enjoys boating, fishing, golfing, and hiking.

Branch Walton - Branch has more than 50 years of direct experience in federal law enforcement, private security, and teaching/training/program development. He was a commissioned officer in the U S Marine Corps and a special agent with NCIS before retiring from the United States Secret Service (USSS) after a 21-year career. After retirement, he served briefly with the US Attorney’s Office in the Central District of Illinois with their Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee then as Director of Corporate Security for Cummins Engine Company, Chief of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s (FLETC) Management Institute, and as a criminal justice instructor at Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana. He is past President of the National Association for Bank Security-Profit Protection, LLC, a company specializing in security and compliance training for the banking industry. He served briefly as Airport Manager of Operations Training at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood -International Airport and as a Subject Matter Expert for the Miami, Florida Police Dept’s Training Division.
