Prepare the risk management professional for what is happening NOW!

The 4 Ls: How to Harden the Target (Bank) Physical attacks against banks are increasing, with management asking everyone what we should be doing to protect our institution. This session looks over effective changes you can implement immediately to make sure your facility is more secure. Using photos of mistakes financial institutions have made across the country, along with how to correct them, is a major emphasis of this program. We will review exterior security concerns such as landscaping, lighting, location, and locks, in addition to building design flaws and how to correct them, and why a night inspection program is essential. While no program can guarantee your bank will not have an incident, you can reduce the probability by taking proactive steps.

Cash Recyclers, Pod Banking & ITMs Banking, as we’ve known it, is rapidly changing. Apps, pod banking, cash recyclers, interactive teller machines, and other new technologies are affecting how we do business and offering new challenges to security. This session embraces these new changes by explaining how we can implement them to make them valuable and profitable to the financial institution while maintaining effective security protocols. This presentation isn't based on theory. It's a real-life, real-time program relating to issues that may contribute to an institution's losses.

Internal Fraud: The Warning Signs How prepared is your institution for internal theft and fraud? Embezzlements were one of the most reported SAR events filed by financial institutions from 1996 to 2019. This riveting session identifies the behavioral changes that can identify internal fraud in the making! Warning signs that every staff member should look for or be able to identify to help stop an internal embezzlement will be reviewed. Discover where the thief will spend the stolen funds and how they keep their stealing from being found. Know whether you should do the investigation or hire a Certified Fraud Investigator. This insightful program provides you with the tools needed to understand the workings of internal fraud.

Board Reporting: The Security Perspective Regulations specify that the Security Officer must report to the board annually and that the implementation, administration, and effectiveness of the security program be addressed. What exactly the Security Officer should report to the board is not clearly identified in the regulations. Best practices relating to training, inspections, and foreseeable events that should be reported to your board will be reviewed.
