Safe Deposit Operations 2025 Guidelines and Update

If just ONE customer claims the bank took contents out of his/her safe deposit box, what is the bank’s liability? UNLIMITED!

Do you have a visitor log for those who aren’t signers on the safe box account? Banks are beginning to have a log to protect them, showing who went into the safe box area with the signer.

Today’s banking environment requires solid internal controls, policies, procedures, and training to minimize risks.  With risk management a high priority in banking today, safe deposit operation guidelines are critical for both liability concerns as well as safety and soundness compliance. Continual awareness, knowledge, tools, and precautions are essential in the safe deposit box operations. This program is a comprehensive and dynamic initiative designed to serve as a learning tool and refresher for safe deposit operations. Participants will receive essential tools, job aids, and a detailed reference notebook.
